About Dana
Living on Martha's Vineyard since she was three years old,
Dana has been cutting, styling, and coloring hair for over 35 years.
For me, it's all about my customers. I'm here to help, whether you just need a trim or buzz cut, you want to achieve a new look with a haircut and new hair color, or you require emergency color correction. You're in good hands.
I'm passionate about hearing and caring about the needs of my clients so that they always look and feel their best. I strive to give them a hairstyle
that portrays a confident statement whenever they walk into a room.
While I spent several years of my hairdressing career off island on Boston's South Shore and on Newbury Street, I've always felt the most creative and most at peace on the Island. It's where my great grandfather immigrated from the Azores in the early 1900's and where I spent many fall and summer days exploring with siblings. The peacefulness, calm, and respite I found outdoors were things I've always wanted to provide to my clients in my own salon.
What to Expect
At Hair by Dana Hughes, clients are treated to a safe, clean, one-on-one, single-chair experience where they can quickly disconnect from their daily lives and feel at ease under my expert care.
In response to the Corona virus, I have taken all safety precautions to ensure that the salon and all of my tools, capes, towels and surfaces are clean and disinfected. I am also a Barbicide Certified salon. You can come into your appointments here at the salon, worry free.
Enjoy my undivided attention and we'll start every session off with a thoughtful consultation to learn what your desired look is, what's been working, and what hasn't. This is true regardless of whether you are a first-time client, or one who's been coming to me for over 15 years.
